Tippy-Toe Prayer

This is the painting I have been working on for the last couple of weeks - Mother With Sturdy Shoes: Tippy-Toe Prayer
I finished it just this morning. I'm having some trouble getting the colours right when I post photos; this painting is actually quite brilliant (I am of course referring to the colours... but now that I've thought about it, perhaps it IS brilliant in every sense of the word - ah... the artist's ego can be a frightening thing).

I assume that I am the georgeous baby that you are holding up to the sky. I love it mom.

Sorry, Ali, you have it all wrong. I would have thought you'd have deeper insight into your mother. The child that is being held up is her little brother. There is apparently quite an age difference. By holding the child up to the sun she is highlighting the holiness of the little brother. Either that or she is protecting herself from the harmful effects of the sun by sacrificing her brother and basking in the shade.

I like the smoke, it looks kinda chrome like, to me.

Your family are cute, too. :-)
