New on the easel
I sold the paintings I'd created for my fledgling "Our Town" series and left the idea behind for over 6 months. I've recently been commissioned to create another "Our Town" work and I'm having so much fun with it you'll soon be seeing more.
Bronwyn: I always do an underpainting, usually in complimentary colours. The painting is very nearly finished and once it is finished I'll mount it on 1/4" plywood and attach a wooden hanging device I use to hang sculptures - hard to describe, but basically a rectangle of 1" x 2" moulding, cut in half on a 45 degree angle; one half hangs on the wall like a hook and the other is attached to the artwork like a reverse hook - slide the artwork hook over the wall hook and ta-da - a secure hanging device.

Now that's interesting: do you usually use underpainting? IS this painting finished now? Will it be hung like a painting with hooks & cord, or .... ?
